Clouds rolled in and the sky turned gray,

A storm was brewing and heading our way.

We raced the wind to seek a place,

To guard us from the rain's cold embrace.

Lightning bolted and thunder roared,

Out there we surely would be floored.

The wind howled like a banshee's screech,

As we found shelter under a beech.

The rain poured down like a waterfall,

Drenching the street, the trees, and all.

But we stayed dry, snug, and warm,

In our little haven from the storm.

As the tempest raged on and on,

We watched it dance outside till dawn.

Relieved and grateful, we were surely blessed,

For the roof that shielded us from the tempest.
