She listened as the earth whispered of the beauties she had long forgotten
The water trickled over every rock and pebble. Each ripple a new greeting
She watched as the spider carefully spun each strand dancing from leaf to leaf
The leaves that hung above the water were a shade of green she'd never seen
The minnows were determined in their vain pursuit to swim up stream
She sat and she listened as if it was the first time she had heard before
She basked in colors that her skin had never felt 'til that morning
Shedding colors of past lovers and past darkness she conquered
Putting to rest past selves in the dirt where she lingered
Her cheeks flushed all a glow and her skin a new hue
Home and light are in us all when you find the real you
