She Wears a Smile
She wears a smile, yet it’s drowning in silent tears.
Holds her laugh like a shield against the years.
No one asks what she hides beneath the grin,
They just nod, pass by, never looking in.
Her footsteps echo through polite rooms.
She talks in neat lines, dusts off the gloom.
her sorrow clings like perfume to her coat.
Words she never said catch in her throat.
She keeps a photo tucked in a drawer,
Looks at it less, feels it more.
No big drama, no grand reveal.
Just time and silence cutting what won’t heal.
Some say she’s strong, she lets them believe,
It’s easier than telling what she needs.
Something inside won’t let her heal and forget.
so she fakes it, for it’s always a safe bet
Still she stands, not for show, not to win,
because she always did, and will again.
She wears a smile, it’s not quite true.
sometimes it’s enough to get her through.
Something inside won’t let her heal and forget
So she fakes it, for it’s always a safe bet.

One can describe oneself in many ways and you have succeeded in one and many ways. Good job.
That's the story of all humans. Nice emotion portrayal.
