one afternoon
while we were walking
somewhere
sometime
"what are we doing here?"
she stopped...
she turned around
she looked me up
she looked me down
looked me squarely in the eye
and she said....
"is this a poem or is this for real
because a girl has got to know..."
i motioned with my hands
that she should continue
"...is this the real deal
or is it just a show
is this desire or
a half arsed glow
do you want me to stay
or to leave and go
am i in the now
or am i in the know
i understand
your need to grow
i can do it fast
i can take it slow
cause just like i said before
a girl's gotta know!"
i smiled crazy at crazy her
i offered her my arm
she took it
we continued our walk
