____________
She's left
She's gone
She's decided
it's time
to move on.
She's decided
the problems
we're mine.
So she gone
and she's
doing fine.
But I sit
alone
contemplating
my supposed
crimes.
--
She's left
She's gone
She's happy
she says.
I can't get
past this ache
in my head.
I spend days
thinking what
I could have
done differently
but nothing
occurs to me.
--
She's left
She's gone
She's with
someone new.
Does this mean
her love was
never true?
I truly don't
know now what
I'm supposed
to do.
But somehow
I'll have to
muddle through.

It’s nothing you could have done. Acceptance is key . There is someone better that is meant for you. Love how you are using your poems as therapy . I can really feel your pain in this one.
Thank you for sharing this. I feel your pain. Know you are not alone..
You are enough. More than enough. Her rejection doesn’t equate to your value and identity.
This is a poignant and touching poem Sam…, but, you have to figure out a way to accept your own statement. She’s left, she’s gone, she’s not coming back… and…. claims to be happy. That is not a statement about you or a failure on your part. The two of you are not meant to be…. For that I am sorry. But, obsessing on it won’t bring her back any more than it made her stay. Try to be happy for her while you look elsewhere for your own happiness. And, hopefully, after this has settled into the past, perhaps she and you can at least be friends. I truly wish you the best of luck in all that and I know IT AIN’T THAT EASY. But, for your own sake, you have to truly try to move on.
