She's Beautiful
A Poem of Inner Beauty
She cries out
Tears of hurt
They throw
Words at her
Like she doesn’t matter
She’s beautiful.

Her world feels
Like it’s closing in around her
A broken girl
Singing
A broken song
She’s beautiful.
~~~~~~
They call her
Names
Make fun of
Her
Burn scars
Marking her body
A map of
The pain
She went
Through.
She’s beautiful.

They taunt her
With words that tear
Her down
To fat,
To thin
To short,
To tall,
To black,
To white,
She’s beautiful.

She hears
The words
You’re not good enough
You will never be
Played like a broken
Record,
By the ones
Who are supposed
To love her.
She’s beautiful.

She hides the bruises
On her face
With too much foundation
And blush
She’s beautiful.
~~~~~~
She wears
The scars with
Pride
They tried
To kill her
But thank God
They didn’t succeed.
She’s beautiful.

The numbers
On her arm
Are fading now
With age
She survived
Auschwitz
By G-D’S Grace
And unimaginable
Strength.
She’s beautiful.
