She Rebuked
A poetic tribute to Sonya Massey
She rebuked when he stepped in her house.
Compassion? Not for her. He never carried an ounce.
Another young Black woman violated in her own home.
They treat us as if we shouldn’t have a home to roam.
How do you tame a beast with the authority to murder someone in their own place of peace.
Even a Black woman of faith can’t escape the yellow tape.
So now we cry because she didn’t have to die.
Too many Black daughters and sons are dying unjustly by the hand of a gun.
She rebuked. Disapproving of the devil and he ended her life with a heat flash from cold metal.
Sonya didn’t have to die it’s a shame.
But she didn’t die in vain and everyone will say her name.

It's difficult for me to know where to start with a review of this book as it was, for me, an entirely unique experience and one that I'll probably never have again. I don't want that to be interpreted as unenjoyable but it has left me scratching my head a little and ruminating on its content, its themes and its characters.

That was so inhumane of them. That poor woman. I wish her killers would get what they deserve.
These kinda things are very rude. Beyond the humanity. Good one to think from a poetry.
I enjoyed the memory of Sonya. As A believer In the Lord Jesus Christ I can say, He took her to a better place and he will avenge her death, that I know. The man that did this, we should forgive as Christ forgave us our own sins, we should pray he repent before it is too late for him. I'm sure as a believer Sonya would want forgiveness. God gave man free will to do or not to do, this man picked up an object that of itself is nothing but a paper weight, He used it to take a life, It is unfortunate but rest assured He will give an account for this. God will soon cleanse the earth of all unrighteousness, I have all confidence that he will perform it.
My god! I just watched the footage after reading this and can not believe what I just saw. It’s beyond senseless. His dumbass won’t survive in prison. As for Sonya, And her family, God bless them all.
