She is a Sun
Glowing Through the Grit
She is a sun-
not merely light, but the fire that births it.
Not a passive glow,
but a force- fierce, untamed,
and impossible to ignore.
She has burned through darkness that tried to snuff her out,
survived skies that begged for her to dim,
and still, she rose every morning,
even when she didn’t want to,
even when the weight was too heavy to glow.
You see, she does not shine to be seen.
She shines because it is in her nature to set things ablaze-
dreams, hearts, entire worlds-
with the warmth of her truth.
They whispered that she burns too hot,
melting comfort, disrupting quiet.
But she was never meant to soothe.
She was born to transform.
There are days her fire flickers-
small, quiet, almost forgotten.
But even a whisper of warmth
can keep a soul from freezing.
And she carries enough
to keep going.
She is not a sun for spectacle.
She is a sun for survival;
for healing, for hope,
for the moments no one sees
but she endures anyway.

Nice to Read
Beautiful story that painted a picture of every strong woman I’ve ever known. “They whisper that she burns too hot…she was never meant to soothe. She was meant to transform.” These words capture society’s reaction to strong, independent woman. It’s truly beautiful. Thank you for sharing and congrats on top story!
I'm reading this on a cold day, and I could feel the warmth from your poem 🌞
