Shattered Promises

Heartbroken poem

He was the promise of a home, a future bright,
A gentle dream I clung to in the night.
My heart, a willing vessel, poured so deep,
For love’s sweet promise, a hope I’d keep.

I saw in him a world I’d cherish,
A step into love I’d never perish.
The laughter, the dreams, the quiet grace
I imagined forever in his embrace.

But like the shifting winds of a Gemini’s face,
He changed his mind, left no trace.
Used me for fleeting pleasure’s call,
While I stood waiting, hoping for it all.

How dare he shatter what we could be,
Ruin my future so effortlessly?
He was my universe, my guiding star,
Yet he never truly saw me from afar.

Now I can’t stay friends, I need to heal,
To find someone who loves me real.
For I deserve more than a broken past
A love that’s true, that will always last.
