The world was once a stained-glass window bright,
Each shard a promise, colored by his light.
He was the lead that held the pieces fast,
A masterpiece of future meant to last.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But now the lead has melted, run away,
Leaving the colors scattered in disarray.
A fractured portrait stares back from the floor,
A woman she no longer knows, or feels sure
Is really her. The vibrant hues are dulled,
The patterns broken, promises annulled.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
She gathers remnants, fingertips stained red,
A crimson memory of words he said.
A sapphire sliver, cool against her skin,
Reminds her of the depths she dove within.
An emerald fragment, sharp and full of pain,
Whispers of hope that will not bloom again.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The silence screams where laughter used to bloom,
A hollow echo in the empty room.
She traces outlines of a love now gone,
A ghost of warmth upon the chilling dawn.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
But even shattered, beauty can remain,
A mosaic born of heartache and of rain.
She'll learn to see the light in every crack,
And build a stronger self that won't look back.
Though scars may linger, etched upon her soul,
She will emerge, eventually whole.
