In the darkness of the night,

As I lay in my bed,

My heart aches with all its might,

For the love that's long been dead.

The memories of our time,

Still haunt me every day,

As I struggle with this climb,

To find my own new way.

The tears they fall like rain,

And I cannot stop the pain,

Of a heart that's been shattered,

By a love that didn't matter.

I thought we had it all,

But it was just a dream,

And now I stand here small,

As reality makes me scream.

The world keeps moving on,

And I try to keep up,

But the weight of what's now gone,

Feels like a never-ending cup.

So I'll keep on going,

Through the darkness and the rain,

Hoping one day I'll be showing,

A heart that's whole again.
