A Tale of Love Lost

The stars still shine, but not for me,

Their glow is cold, their light set free.

The whispers once so soft, so true,

Now fade like mist in morning dew.

Your name still lingers in the air,

A ghost of love is no longer there.

The hands I held, the eyes so bright,

Are memories lost to endless nigh?.

I trace the past in broken dreams,

A silent ache, a tear unseen.

For love once ours, now dust and rain,

A song that sings of only pain.

The winds still call, but you don’t hear,

Your heart once close is now gone.

I reach for shadows, call your name,

But silence answers are just the same.

If love was fate, then fate has lied,

For now, I am alone and tired.

Yet in the dark, through storm and sea,

A part of you still lives in me.
