Shattered Citrine

Broken because of our shattered love

Shattered Citrine

A citrine rose stood bright with pride

its glow was ours it did not hide

a rare jewel cut from flame and stone

I held it close it felt my own

The light it cast was sharp and clear

a promise strong a vow sincere

your hands once kept it safe with mine

the glass was warm it seemed divine

Yet silence fell the air grew cold

the truth came out the story told

your eyes turned hard your touch was gone

the fragile rose could not go on

It trembled first then cracked apart

a sound that split my breaking heart

the shards flew wide the colours bled

our love lay shattered cold and dead

A million pieces cut the ground

no gentle bloom was left to crown

the citrine glow became my pain

a treasure lost that left a stain

The floor still glitters where it fell

a ghost of fire a crystal shell

I walk away with empty hands

love broken where no life now stands
