Sharp Edged Laughs

For when you're tired

It’s a bit hard to smile

When your lips are weighed down

By the gravity well

Following you around

As your joke falls to the floor

Shattering into more

Heretical sharp edged laughs

There’s no reason to cry

When you’re trapped by yourself

Since at least you’re not dead

Hey does that kind of help?

You just spin and spin about

Endlessly with no way out

Amid impossible sharp edged laughs

You can cut your jib on humor

If you try

You can laugh at how you’re suffering

Until you die

If there’s no hope and no escape

I’ll just pretend I’m in another place

With a comedy playing

Full of sharp edged laughs
