There is more loving each other
Then volunteering and
patting ourselves on the back
There is more to kindness
Then, buying a meal for
A homeless man and
Posting it to Social Media
There is more to helping our brothers and sisters
Then, only hoping for the accolades
*
If you can not buy a meal for someone
Of another race or
If cannot help a homeless person
Because of their gender or
You can not volunteer
Because of any prejudice or
You make of an elderly person
Who has lost their memories or
You make fun of someone for
Their learning disabilities
Then you are only hurting yourself
And denying yourself love
*
For it is when we truly give of
Ourselves that we are blessed
With good fortune
For it is when we help those less fortunate
Then we can receive
The healing our souls desire
It is when we share kindness
With our fellow humans that we
Can be at such peace
Whether they are
Young or old
Black or white
Whether they have
Learning disabilities or
Physical disabilities
A little kindness
Can go a long way
So share the love

Amen to that my Vocal sistren. That is why I don't really social media much. We all need too much validation for nonsensical things. True words here.
Everyone deserves kindness regardless of their circumstances and we should be kind without expecting anything in return. Loved your poem!
This poem needs to be out there - the world needs to be reminded of such kindness at all times. Thank you for writing this!
Kindness given without reservation is what it's all about!
love and sympathy are a like a coin of two sides
I agree. Kindness should be given from genuine concern and empathy, not for for likes on SM.
So well put! I especially love this line: “For it is when we truly give of, Ourselves that we are blessed” ❤️
Yes, I agree everyone is worth Some Love ❤️
