Shadow of a Dove on Death’s Row
On death row, I made a dove,
through the window’s bars,
I set my spirit free.
Fingers bent in quiet prayer,
shaping wings of light above,
a shadowy ghost against the wall,
a dream of what could be.
The world beyond is lost to me,
the sky a distant sigh,
but in this dim-lit,
narrow cell,
I teach myself to fly.
No judge, no rope,
no locked embrace
can steal what I have made,
a shadow born of fading sun,
a soul that won’t be caged.

So beautiful and it reminds me of even though sad when someone is dying and the soul wants to fly free from this earthly form.
The dove of peace and freedom. I love the setting here.
You are very talent
