Shadow Man
I slip slyly by
By Mark Stigers Published about a year ago • Updated about a year ago • 1 min read

When it’s night and your lonely
move you will see me do,
in a black cape so lovely,
with a dark top hat too.
Your eyes you won’t believe,
as I slip slyly by.
You cannot conceive
of the tasks I try.
You can see me when you first awake,
a quick glance as I pass.
You’ll say, “What’s that for goodness sake,”
as out the corner of your eye me you grasp
I am so dark.
An enigma I am.
But you know in your heart,
I am one of the damned.
I am a bad omen,
If you see me.
In the background I am roamin’.
A thing that just can’t be.
