SHADES OF ME
My spirit is gray as the storms roll in and lay heavy on me like the clouds as the rain envelopes my mind.
Streaks of orange and red mold together like a sunset as confusion imprisons my thoughts.
I am so close to clarity I can see the white haze in the distance.
This is where I live. This state of chaos. These constant colors as I have grown stay with me like an old friend. I wear my confusion as that favorite pair of blue jeans.
I would like to paint my smile bright as the morning sun. Yellow and dandelion dreams.
Cool as that sweet breeze after a summer drizzle. I would love to be a light to the world.
Brilliant, and silver, gleaming of confidence and strength. I wear my heart instead guarded behind these walls no one ever told me to build.
Is clarity just a dream I believe it is not. I will shine someday, brighter than today. That is enough. The white haze will no longer be out of reach but will clothe me in a robe of light me and lift me high.

I love writing. I find it a challenging way to express my emotions. I have a loving family and I love my life. Some say I write about sad things. A process I share that moves my heart. I can only hope my words will move other hearts also.
