SHADES OF DARK
When life hits hard we fall and rise again.
By Theophilus EmmanuelPublished 5 years ago • 1 min read

Daylight sometimes scares me
And I walk looking for a shade
Like a mother your hands are always outstretched
Waiting to welcome me to you
With a beautiful smile calling me to you
Your heart is pure white
Like a glass I could see through
Oh yes, this is true
I come running in my shades of dark
Looking muddy, like I just dined with swines
Yet, you took me in and offered me a bath
White robe you offered me as dress
The tip of the dress carefully spotted with blue
I touched myself to be sure this was true
Oh yes it is true
I stepped out into the sunlight again
Hoping life would not deal me the same card again
With my confidence radiating bright yellow
And pride walking solo
Believing that this time the story will be different.
