Separation

Reparation

As I battle the pain of separation

I work and strive for reparation

The chance to journey in space

Going for a distant race

Is there anything to mean?

What can be greater seen?

Is there a river to the ocean?

That flows this devotion

The rhyme takes form

In a world cold and warm

The climbing to the top

Does not mean wicked hop

Burned to the grown

Loss of friendship gone

The overarching story

need not be dull and gory

The satisfaction of tomorrow

Overcoming pain and sorrow

The lines keep flowing down

Unsure of what is found

slam poetry
