Today is a gift, that is why we call it the 'present'.
Are you as conflicted about this life as I am
Are some days wonderful...beautiful
Your heart bursting with joy
While on other days...you regret waking up
You wish you never got out of bed
Then this is for you
A bit of joy and conflict intermingling
...
I am strong
I am bold
I am unafraid
Filled with...SELFSPIRATION
The art of inspiring one's 'self'
Yet...
I am also afraid...most of the time
I cannot let it show too much
I used to be timid, but I grew up
I still feel weak sometimes
I cringe in the shadows, sometimes
I am scared of what tomorrow brings
Sometimes---
Yet curiously...
I peek into the future with great anticipation
Needing desperately to know what it holds
hoping for the best of myself
I am an open book
I am an enigma
wrapped in a riddle that puzzles me
therefore...I must be a puzzle to you
I am confused...at times
I am lost...at times
Yet...
My eyes are wide open to it all
The verdant trees
Majestic forests
Life's human march of souls
Searching for celestial answers
The contrasts profound
Beauty unbound
Thoughts of Heaven
Terrors of Hell
If we truly bare our innermost souls
Speak with perfect truth and honesty,
We will admit with humility...
This life scares the beJesus out of us all
Yet, we arise each day and face the maelstrom
Dive head-first into the fray
Thankfully...
This life is for fearful, fearless living,
matters not what storms it may bring
or what joy sings upon the wind
We are brave souls tossing upon the waves
Into the sunset we steer our crafts
Some wise person said...
Yesterday is history
Tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift;
That's why we call it...
'The Present'.
