Selfish Take

Notice the dew.

Dew drops on daisies cause pouting of crowds

That damn the carbon footprint and the lights.

They burn because of the fossil fuel clouds.

The man-haters strike out against the fight.

Plastics, paper, and glass all have their roles.

To rake men in an orgiastic mess

Is the environmentalists’ sole goal.

They wish not to see the grace of progress.

Turn on those lights and wash hands with the soap

Like trees yearning for water, sun and air.

Ecologists like the squelch of crushed hope.

Because these figures do not truly care.

Man has exploited not for the Earth’s sake

But to convey his own good, selfish take.
