Once in a far-off land lived a man named Sam, who held a deep selfishness, he wanted everything, and had no care or time, only for his own gain. When he came of age to marry, he met a woman he fancied, so he set about with his charms and smarts, to catch the fair maiden’s love. It took some time and a pretty dime, but in the end, he did wed her.

As time passed by the woman was scorn, because he had deceived and tricked her, he made her think she was everything, but after they wed, he treated her like his possession. She warned him if he didn’t change and showed the love she needed, then she would leave no matter what even if he pleaded.

From morning till night, she went about scrubbing and dusting their house, trying to make a home for him that would make him feel proud, she cooked every meal and made special jelly fills, like the ones he had shown her.

She dressed in sexy dresses, yet he didn’t seem to notice, on a summer’s night she sat outside below the star lit sky, with shimmering long golden hair waiting for him to see her, yet again he did not seem to care because he walked right past her.

At night in bed, he just turned his head and rolled his back to her. No kisses, good night, not a squeeze tight, not even a glimpse of Lovin.

So, she was at her wits end, when she told him again, she was leaven, He paid no mind to the words she spoke, because he was much too busy with other folk, to even try and hear her.

She bid good night, walking by moonlight to the place he called home. for he didn’t care and didn’t know she left him there alone.

she walked in the house that felt like a prison, A stone shell with cold wooden rails that led her to the bedroom.

She packed her cloths, she wrote a note, and walked straight out of the prison he kept her held in.

Arriving home drinking and shouting he stumbled to their bed, not seeing she fled away he passed straight out without a mumble.

When he awoke, he looked about and noticed her clothes were gone, then he found the note she wrote and here is what she said.

I am not a piece of Art you bought to hang upon the wall.

I am not your hallway carpet that you trample mud upon,

I am not your golden statue to put upon a shelf,

I am not your married maid who plays your silly games nor your friend or your mate, those guys you can push around with a scowl upon your face.

But I am the woman that was fooled by you, like an actor in a play, preforming all your lines you knew just what to say and do.

you had everything you wanted plus you had me, then tossing me aside like an old worn tie never to wear again,

Now I’m gone and your all alone I will never return where your concerned, till that darken day, when death has done us in

many years later the day he died she went to his grave side to say her last goodbye,

And upon his head stone you will see the words that will follow

Here lies a man, who died from loss he could not see the woman beside him, who gave him everything, yet it was never enough, because of his greed he couldn’t see the love she wanted to give him. In his last breath he spoke of one regret, never knowing why she left him.
