Segments of Fruit
Farewell Hex: #7851A9

A fruit peeled perfectly in one single
Cascading
Spiral
Leaving six segments of fruit
Gripped together
Milky shroud
in
perfect cyclic symmetry.
and in a flash you’ve eaten one
and in a flash its delicious
and gone
how do you lose one sixth of a mom?
when the rainbow loses a bit of its shine
and you’ve forgotten the hue
in the glass
of your mulberry wine
It took a village to raise the wild
Into something resembling a seedling,
a small happy child,
Who was given a good healthy stock of root
And busy enjoying the rest of his
Segments of fruit
To my aunt who I was always so proud of for publishing her stories.
Thank you for reading.

This poem warmed my heart. I loved it.
This one is beautifully written, it feels tender and quietly heartbreaking. 💔🍊
I don;t know if there is slight sadness here but your aunt sounds a wonderful person. Love your words
