All I want
All I’ve ever wanted
I’m too afraid to seek
Whether you’re close enough
To smell the sweetness of your scent
Or so far away
I must imagine your ethereal eyes
I let you tame me
Shape me
Break me and shame me
And still it escapes me
I dream of you while awake
I wake for you when I dream
But when the chance falls upon me
I freeze
Is this hell?
To suffer this longing
Or will hell come when I reach?
A clash of my desire with reality
That shatters the pieces of me who waited
Under the gravity of truth
Still, I must know
I must feel you upon my lips
And discover if that brings with it
Heaven or hell.
