Blue stains my cheeks as you paint a,
Red scarlet letter across my soul.
Black clouds cast shadows over the words I let roll off my tongue, “I’m gay.”
Purple permanently bruises my heart, and the once
Yellow skies give light to the secret I held for so long.
White flames used to rescue me from the rattle of my Dad’s
Orange pill bottle, but now heavy
Brown church doors lock out the “sinners” that need refuge the most.
In 1951 America started selling color TVs, however, some people still only see in black and white.
Blue streaks roll down my cheeks as I realize the only color you have ever bothered to see is the
Red scarlet letter you painted across my soul.
