Sectioned (spoken word poem)

Psychosis poetry

By Daniel HooksPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Handcuffed and sectioned

Because I believed I was Jesus

directionless and cut free from reality

they took me to priory in a police van

while together in electric dreams played on the radio

life cuts like a blade though

my memory edits the cage

I am in

she said it’s a prison

Alexandria,

I know I am only one with key to escape

to scrape

my sadness away

and one step at a time I will learn

to fly into heavens branches.

I know birds dance into the trees

I have been sectioned but I don’t accept this disease!
