Secrets Stay Hidden
Don't Tell Mother

In shadows deep, where silence lay,
A child's plea at break of day.
'Mother dear, you've left me lone,
When wolves did howl, and night winds moan.
**********************************************************************
You were not there to shield or save,
From fanged despair, I stood so brave.
Yet still, I hold this secret tight,
For disbelief would be my plight.
**********************************************************************
In your absence, I found my might,
Against the dark, I fought the fight.
And though you knew not of my trial,
I've grown beyond the fearsome wild.
**********************************************************************
So, hear my words, though hard to believe,
Of wolves and whispers, the nights deceive.
A tale of courage, silent kept,
In starlit eyes that have often wept.
**********************************************************************
Forgive the silence, forgive the night,
For in the end, I found the light.
And love remains, through trials untold,
In stories brave, in hearts so bold.'

Super poem! Brave even though left alone. Nice job.
