Secret Struggle

Relapse

By Sadie ColePublished 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

Soft steps, silent screams, songful sorrows.

Sleeping soul's sibilant sighs sanctify senses.

Stealthy snakes stalking sobriety, stealing sanity.

Sinister shadows seizing sacred sacrifices.

Safety stolen, scalded skin, shattered shelter.

Stilted speech, savage shaking, salvaged satisfaction.

So Sorry.

The alliteration's great, but it's the consonance that really makes this poem rock. Nice work there, Sarah!
