Seasonal Longings

~

Winter, your thrill of chill is fun for a moment,

but then I dream of summer’s saunter.

Sipping lemonade, under palm tree shade,

glancing at a jovial children’s parade,

as they plop into the parental ocean waves.

Gripping a sturdy leatherback book,

of which most walked by in the old musty store and mistook,

thinking it to be boring and dull.

But the book is exploding with adventure and on my heartstrings it continues to pull.

It’s about Indians and pirates and princesses and funny looking giants.

It’s fast-paced, and on goofy wit, it’s ever-reliant!

I'm not a fan of cold weather so apricity is my favorite part of winter. The imagery is lovely and bless the old books and pictures and stories. 😊☀️💫 this makes me want to bundle up and go to the beach just to watch the sunset.
