Softly, silently, serenely,

Sails the ship in the sea,

Seeking solace, seeking sanctuary,

Seeking a shore, safe and free.

Salty, swirling, surging waves,

Surround the ship on every side,

Sending shivers, sending scares,

Sending the sailors on a wild ride.

Suddenly, swiftly, steadily,

Storm clouds gather in the sky,

Sending thunder, sending lightning,

Sending the ship on a course awry.

Struggling, striving, surviving,

Sails the ship through the storm,

Searching for a sliver of hope,

Searching for a safe haven to transform.

Safely, soundly, securely,

Sails the ship into the bay,

Sighing with relief, singing with joy,

Safely anchored, for another day.
