When skin tears, blood drips

When flawlessness becomes flawed

Where memories of the event remain seen

I can be baggage, or I can be your fuel

Use me to share your story,

Or use me to warn against adversity.

Or better yet, suppress me in your memory bank

Forgotten, obliviate.

Regardless, I’m here

I’m permanent.

You may have healed,

But I’m the scar.

So which do you choose?
