Scarlet Letter

Poem

By Desmond RazzanoPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

But love looks kind of like hate, looks kind of like nobody’s better.

When I come to my senses, I always come too late until I feel the pressure.

While I’m still here, I’m only here for business, but the business is my pleasure.

Whole entire world thinks you’re trash, but I think that you’re my treasure.

Darlin’, effort..that’s all I need to see for now.

Star-lit measure.. if I go down then we go down.

Incarnate forever, I’ll miss you for eternity.

My scarlet letter.. What’s really mine returns to me.

But life seems sort of like death, hell seems sort of like heaven.

You look just like you’re happy, but that looks just like depression.

Fool me once, alright, now you won’t fool me for a second.

And yes, it’s only you I need; about it, there’s no question.

So, Charlotte better.. weave her web to catch me.

With harlot feathers.. I fell from off the edge, see.

In darkness forever.. I’ve not yet found the best of me.

My scarlet letter.. used up the ink in pens for me.
