Saw your Dating Profile

Scrolling my eyes and fingers across the World Wide Web, with a hopeless heart, and dreams that I would one day find the one who will make me forget all others! The night was late and my eyelid inspection was well overdue! Knowing that the relationship with my alarm clock has not been on good terms, I continue to push the envelope as our ventures remain on rocky terms!

Nonetheless, sleep was the last thing on my mind when I saw her dating profile! Titled, “Proceed with Caution, this Heart is made for construction and not destruction” her name, Amirah, 30-something, located in the “Sunshine State”.

My eyes were is disbelief! My heart was out of control! You know, that lottery-winning feeling, but couldn’t quite claim the prize just yet! So having nothing to loose, I went all in!

I click the like button and sent a soft message as follows: “I know you seen a bunch of guys, and in their dreams you kissed them and made them cry! I’m probably the next guy shedding tears and fast forwarding thoughts of you and I into many years!”

I hit send and gave surrender to the early morning, hoping that three hours of sleep can bring me some justice to the demands of next day adventures!

Closed my eyes and there you were! Asking me why did it take me so long to come to this cold bed! I then made mention to fear not, as the temperature will change soon, her lingerie had me howling to the moon!

She told me to calm down as tonight is for cuddles and the workday is near for me! I rested happy, but could not close my eyes, as this dream was too close to real!

My phone buzz, and it was a chime from my dating app! Amirah replied and she said, “thanks for the compliment! Are you serious or are you here to play games?”

I replied, “games are for the uncertain at heart and weak in the mind! I know what I need, so tell the others to step out of line!”

I felt her smile in the next reply, as the dots jumped up and down as I anticipated the words to fall out of the sky and on the screen of my phone! She said to me, “you do this often, that reply was way too polished, but the confidence gives me a natural high!”

My pants got bigger for all the wrong reasons, so I had to slow down and defer to the higher level of thinking! I replied, “I’m a firm believer in going after what I want; and when I saw you, nothing else seemed to matter!”

Her reply was shocking to me! She gave me her number and full trust was extended to me! Now I knew that I was in a special place! Her message said, “don’t make waste of this information! As you are in uncharted territory!”

I replied with a careful thought from higher learning, “I completely understand what I have and I tend for your summers and many other days to never be the same!”

Amirah replied, “I can’t wait to experience this! My heart has been so dry with empty promises and with many attempts to fill it with hollow gifts! I have waited for a man with substance and for his thoughts and words to match his actions! Jermaine, please make me feel like I’m the only one in the room!”

I softly replied, “ I will do my best and when I understand how you love, I will do even better with efforts to match that blueprint and give our hearts nothing else to consider.”

I hit send, and my alarm went off!
