We met at a work function. What? A gathering of like-minded individuals prefaced with their bosses' blessing. Wow. How amazing he was when he said my name. Sasha. The girl with the haunting blue-green eyes shaped like endless saucers meant to hypnotize. Dan, you were defeated before you even knew it!

Electric Blue in at Mike's Bar and Grille in Springfield, VA. Did you hear Foofighters did your town right, locally? Where is my David Groehl, I wonder. Everlong, Dan, you were with your crew. Who knew Sasha was already smitten and captured by your crew, man.

If you only could guess what 26 years translates from years to dog years, you would know how precious your love is for one another. Cherish it and live it.

Climb up the telephone pole and be electively electricuted for each other tomorrow. Be the ones that know better than poor Romeo. I applaud your love story, McMurrer family.

About the Creator

Raissa Dassel

I have been a poet since my childhood. It peaked during my misunderstood teens and now again in my 50th year of life. It would be an honor to have people respond to my thoughts. I played the piano as a child, too. It is a beautiful life.
