sarcastic disparity

a poem

everything that has ever been said

it wasn’t enough to catch you in my web

as you were always with them –

the perfect witness to all my missteps

though I could never get close to you

as you are armoured from head to foot

and I am a weak reed messed up by the wind

I feel the tinge every time of your presence around me

every time I make a deal with Lady Death

she’s not very nice to me instead

offers me all kinds of trouble

she swaps red pills for blue pills to disguise my anger with sorrow

as if trying to balance opposing sides

the way you always used to do

who says what is wrong and what is right?

what forces have the right to fight?

in this tremendous, ghastly circus

not for me this time, I’m afraid

crumbled under the amount of tiny sharp broken pieces
