Salt Spray

A Poem On Love

By Sean BassPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

I remember

when the daylight would unspool

like thread between our fingers

and the night-time came

stillborn in our minds

We ran

naked as babes ourselves

fearless and hopeful and wistful

We carried desire

on our lips

as if it’s burden were a gift

In the ocean

waves lapping at our ribs

you kissed me

and finally I knew

the taste of love
