Thunder booms,

Lightning strikes,

Heart racing and heavy breathing.

They’re behind me trying to catch me.

They want to hurt me for reasons I can not fathom.

I don’t think I just run,

Faster! Faster! Is all I hear in my mind as I try not to look back.

Don't let them catch you! The voice in my head screams.

They lurk in the dark, but I don’t mind them,

I just keep running until I feel a cold, menacing breath on my neck.

I stop and turn my head to dare a look, but no ones there, or so I thought.

Because when i turn back around, all I can see are dark, soulless eyes

staring at me.

I try to scream but it lunges at me and everything goes black.

I wake up in a sweat screaming. It was a nightmare.

I reach for my neck where i felt the breath in my dream and feel two holes

there that were not there before.

I guess I didn’t run fast enough.
