Run Child Run

A Free Verse Poem

By Chelsea ChallinorPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

Run child run

Don't dare turn back

The unknown may catch up with you

Flee child flee

Time can be cruel

You never know how it might treat you

Fly away fly

Innocence doesn't last

Danger can lurk at every corner

Scream child scream

Let your voice be heard in the void

Words can have great power

Cry child cry

There is no shame in shedding tears

Pain is an unfortunate part of life

Laugh child laugh

Joy can be found anywhere

Not all places are completely dark

Breathe child breathe

There is always hope

Fear doesn't have to last forever
