Nightcafe Image
The tree,
Once resplendent
In her autumn garb
Of red and gold and green
Stands bare, naked...
...until nimble Jack Frost,
With his clever fingers,
Dresses her once again.
A beauteous princess
In a glittering gown, white
She shimmers as she sways,
Glinting in the bitter wind.
The first frost arrives.
The first frost arrives.

I've decided this is the one I will use by you in the book. Hope you don't mind. If you do have any other nominations, please let me know, but I love the elegance, brevity and ethereal quality of this!

Excellent imagery and poetic techniques. Works really well Ruth! 👏
Love it!! You captured the beauty of winter, the whiteness of it after the green of spring and summer. Fabulous job.
A beautiful poem… love the imagery and repeated last lines.

How lovely ❤️. The imagery of that beautiful tree being dressed was clever and worked so well for this piece. And the pic is stunning:). Glad to see you on here!
