Rotten Lime

on my tongue

By Ariana GonBonPublished 7 months ago 1 min read

Someday I will peel

My chest like an orange

A lemon sourness to pour out

Or perhaps a gasoline to light bridges to burn

Letting my heart finally feel warmth

Remove the thousands of needles

I pushed in to keep myself quiet

A pile so high

They will not recognize me anymore

A taste of rotten lime on their tongues

This deserves so much more recognition. I physically recoiled , that’s how powerful your words were.
