I had always romanticized life, desperate to find beauty and meaning in even the most insignificant of things.
And then the world hit me. And all of that meaning and beauty I had created in my mind seemed so naive. So I took off my rose-tinted glasses, and my world went dark.
Then, one day, I woke up, and I realized something: why is it a bad thing to romanticize everything? The good, the bad, and the ugly. We all look through a rose tinted lens while we’re young, and it seems that one day, all of us wake up, take those lenses off, and simply accept that life maybe wasn’t as beautiful as we once thought it might be.
So I decided, that no matter how many times life proved all my romanticizing and poetry wrong, that I would still look through that lens. I would still choose to see the world through rose-tinted glasses - I would still choose to find the beauty in all of it.
And, if there was no beauty to be found, I would create my own.
And that’s why I have chosen to live in a rose-tinted world ever since.
