A Poem

They hold you down,

Deep into the ground,

Beyond the dirt,

Into the bedrock.

***

They keep you from moving,

From flying into the unknown,

The dangerous,

The unseeable.

***

You don’t fight it,

You don’t struggle.

You feel warmth,

You like how they wrap around you.

***

Even when others make faces at you,

It doesn’t faze you.

You dig deeper,

Deeper into the Earth.
