Romancing The Moon

A Kiss To Rise The Tide

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

She’d sneak out of her window

When the moon was big and bright

Her eyes were full of wonder

As he rose that autumn night

*

Crossed the path and down the lane

Through the shadows, she escaped

He calls to her as season’s change

Just to gaze upon her face

*

Theirs is a romance, like no other

Some say, it’s just a myth

But he chose her for his lover

Each night, he seals it with a kiss

*

She feels his love for her

As the moonbeams trace her face

He writes celestial letters

Puts each star there, in their place

*

She sings her love songs to the sky

He holds each one, with delight

So tomorrow, when the sun’s setting is nigh

She’ll sneak out once again, so they can hold each other tight

love poems

Now that's a long distance relationship. Do you think it will last? (Of course it will. Our love affair with the moon has been going on for eons.)
