Love looks like a city slicking cowboy
he’ll have spurs in his eyes
a soft leather tongue and
palms fit to tame a horse or
lasso a tree
He’s a classic cattleman in big shiny shoes
I’m stealing his stetson
there’s steel in his lessons
for a silly mountain girl
just twenty-three
Warm rolled tobacco between his tough teeth
the kiss of a cowboy
is a 5 o'clock shadow
straight down the center of the
city of dreams
My Madison Avenue rodeo king
lasso my altitude heart
still riding bareback
through cold western winds
come rescue me
