Walk the Rockland Harbor Pier to get my steps
In summer the sun and breeze feel so good
With benches spread out for we weary to rest
Each time I walk a little further for me, a test..
Music of my 78 years, play in the headset on my ears
Trying to keep a regular rhythm the aim to be stronger
I sing out loud if I'm alone, people passing me a lower tone
The lungs deeply breathe in pushing it out even longer..
A marble bench is my goal, halfway through thank you Lord
Sit n breathe, I sway and tap my toes and while the sea foams
Just gazing not staring I dream of my life and loves and friends
Masts of a hundred ships bobbing like multi metronomes..
A deep drink of water with a sigh I stand for my return
The air pushing with me for the march back to the lot
Butterflies flitting side to side a game I guess butterfly tag
Older white gulls chase the yearlings away from their spot..
