Holding my hands
from both sides
wrapping my arms
till they meet
round behind
contorting my body
to hold itself
to comfort myself
~~~
When no one is watching
crying into my own bosom
rocking on into the night
like a Confucian proverb
~~~
If there is no one
to taste my tears
to feel me tremble
or hear me mewl
am I actually doleful
or worthy of solace
anyhow
