Road Trips

A poem of shared nature’s solace

Sweet comfort memories of times gone by

of traveling with ya‘ll that make me cry

tears of soulful joy well up within

floating in my heart like a grin.

🏕 🏕 🏕

Lovely memories of vacation past

oh, if it could just be cast

in such a way to never end

camping & hiking to ascend.

🥾 🥾🥾

Campfires, sing-alongs and corny jokes

bring smiles when talking about the folks

of National Park visits or wilderness remote

create a lump in the throat.

🏔⛰🏔

Mountain Streams and a pristine lake

so beautiful for heaven’s sake

Remember, Uncle, the summit climb

When every rhythm had a rhyme.

🌲🌲🌲

So the reverie of things no more

as ya’ll exited life’s last door

brings me serenity nonetheless

mind-mapping road trips that still bless.
