Road Trip

By Jontae Pate

By Jontae Pate Published about a year ago 1 min read

There is a dream-like darkness

Lighting the way

Roads are bright now

The poles sleep during the day and wake at night

Rolling down the hill of screaming circles

signals change with sounds

Echoing off of the waving trees in the dark

The wind sees all

Moving and turning in all directions

Sitting at the head of the tree

The aileron of the wind walks from tree to tree

A Black Brush marked on the ground

Leading into the forest

what awaits us on the other side

The deeper we go the darker it gets

Trees as big as a mountain began to move

(thud)

The car shakes and comes to a stop

(thud)

The tree's arms move with the wind and smack the ground

Pushing us deeper into the forest.

"James wake up we are here. You slept the whole ride to Grandma's house''

"I guess crazy dreams never come true."
