Rise from the Rot

Please dig your way up

By Ecarg NosivePublished 12 months ago 2 min read
Top Story - January 2025

I hope you rise from the rot tomorrow darling

The soil doesn’t need your nourishment just yet

I know your eyes are shriveled from crying but your tear ducts have more to be said

Just because you feel as deep as to your bone from your flesh

Doesn’t mean that the surface of you can’t also decompress

It won’t always be like this, let the maggots mourn

Just because your heart stopped beating doesn’t mean it’s not still torn

At least in life you can try to reassemble it

You’re terrified but feeling means you didn’t quit

I hope your decaying skin reverses itself

I pray your brittle bones can still carry your wealth

Your finger nails will grow again

Your hair will still be dead

Blood will fill you with color

Your organs will clean it’s gutters

There is no room for toxins in a body trying to regain strength

I swear you will be vibrant once again

You are not a zombie

You are not ash

You are just somebody who battles death

So push the rodents off of you and the worms that helped

No longer let the beast devour you, you do that enough to yourself

Dig upwards with passion until you’re through and can breath and then

leave the dirt with an empty hole

6ft deep was never meant to be your home

Brace yourself once you are re-birthed and bare

Clothes may cover you but vulnerability is always aware

Being killed hurt less than choking on your pride

You may start as a mess but you’ll tidy up nice

Shower the morbid bodily fluids down the drain

Stitch up the outside wounds and soon your insides will do the same

I believe you are a lovely lively human

You may feel unwanted

.. and that’s the truth

But not by me

And now not by you

So who?

Darling

The reaper never desired you

You did

It’s just you couldn’t find yourself so you committed to the loss

You’ll only ever find you if you never give up

The Reaper will come back for you please don’t worry about that

I know everyone leaves but why do you let everyone be yourself?

Stay this time, mother nature will survive without you

But you won’t

It’s tomorrow darling..

Good morning my merry muse

Have you risen?

Have you woke?

Have you finally found you?

I love how you shift from darkness to hope, and the line "You did, it’s just you couldn’t find yourself" 👌🏽. It’s like telling someone that they’re worth the fight, even if they’ve forgotten. Seriously, this was deep and beautifully written.

Congratulations on your TS. That said, how this reminds me of my brother who spend his entire life "after Nam" being so misunderstood. This is so beautifully written.
